Registration

First official day of the 2024/2025 Season is July 31st 2024.

Mustangs Football Team Registration starts on July 29th 2024.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must complete the eligibility process with the Activities Office before you are allowed to practice with your team. You will receive a Golden Ticket when you are eligible (all forms completed and payment made).

Athletes must be enrolled on at least 5 ASD classes to participate
- Grades will be verified for a 2.0 minimum & 5 classes passed. IF you are a homeschooled student, it is your responsibility to bring an official transcript and class schedule to the Activities Office.
- Seniors who are on track to graduate (have at least 17.5 credits) may enroll in 4 classes and still be eligible.

You MUST COMPLETE the Chugiak High School Pre-Registration process using Planet HS and get your "Golden Ticket" before team registration.

The 2023 Football Registration is a five step process

Please read the steps below and be sure you have completed up to step 4 before July 25.

Football Registration consists of all five steps in order. All steps must be completed prior to attending practice:

Step 1: Get a sports physical

Step 2: Go to ASD High School Sports https://www.asdk12.org/domain/3932; Activities Pre-Participation Registration online and complete the ASD side of the registration. This is a lengthy process so be sure to follow All the instructions. There is a $225 fee that goes directly to ASD.

Step 3: Go to the Chugiak High School Activities Office on July 29th and get your ASD Golden Ticket confirming you have completed step 1 and 2.*

Step 4: Paying for Team Player Pack can be done online or at the parents meeting July 29th. Money from this step goes DIRECTLY to the Mustangs Football Program and pays for the player pack, travel, and feeding players throughout the season.

Step 5: In person Team Registration: Come with your player to Chugiak High School at 6 pm July 29th to meet the Booster Club, verify you paid for get your players player pack, and then have your player make their way to the Cafeteria to pick up their pack for the season.

*If you do not have the ASD Golden Ticket verifying that you have completed the ASD High School Sports & Activities Pre-Participation Registration, and the ticket provided from this registration we will not be able to complete your registration, and you will not be able to pick up gear, attend practices, or play in games.

IF YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE PLANS TO PLAY ANY COLLEGE SPORT THEY NEED REGISTERED WITH THE NCAA AND BE FAMILIAR WITH NCAA RULES, REGULATIONS, AND REQUIREMENTS.

RECRUITING CAN HELP STUDENT ATHLETES GET BETTER EXPOSURE OUTSIDE OF ALASKA, AND ASSIST IN IDENTIFYING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THAT MAY NOT BE ON THEIR RADAR. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF SCHOOLS WHERE YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE CAN GET A GREAT EDUCATION AND CONTINUE TO PLAY FOOTBALL AFTER HIGH SCHOOL. ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS NCSA CAN HELP GET YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE ON THE RIGHT TRACK AND HELP OPEN DOORS.

ANOTHER GREAT WAY FOR YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE TO GET EXPOSURE TO COLLEGE COACHES AND IMPROVE THEIR PLAYING ABILITY IS TO ATTEND FOOTBALL CAMPS. THE ALL-ALASKA CAMP IS THE ONLY CAMP OF ITS KIND IN ALASKA AND TAKES PLACE IN JUNE. THIS IS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE THERE. WE TYPICALLY HAVE A LARGE GROUP THAT ATTENDS! THE BOOSTERS OFFER TWO SCHOLARSHIPS TO PLAYERS WHO SHOW A STRONG DESIRE TO ATTEND, BUT MAY NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL MEANS. ANOTHER GREAT WAY FOR YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE TO GET EXPOSURE TO COLLEGE COACHES AND IMPROVE THEIR PLAYING ABILITY IS TO ATTEND OUT-OF-STATE FOOTBALL CAMPS. THE ALL-POLY CAMP ALSO TAKES PLACE IN JUNE, BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN ATTENDING BECAUSE IT MIGHT CONFLICT WITH THE ALL-ALASKA CAMP.
